- Avoid napping during the day time
- Eliminate distractions from the bed room
- Sleep in a dark, quiet, cool and comfortable room
- Use the bed for sleeping and sex but no TV or reading
- Follow a regular schedule for bed time
- Establish a regular bedtime routine
- No vigorous exercise before bedtime
- Watch what/when you eat
- Avoid large meals close to bedtime
- Avoid caffeine, nicotine and alcohol close to bedtime
- Refuse to worry by properly managing stress
- Listen to quiet music, take warm bath and relaxation exercises before bedtime
